Cheryl Runkle

AMFT

As an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist, I believe therapy is most effective when it is grounded in genuine connection, curiosity, and deep respect for each person’s lived experience. My approach is person-centered and relational, with a focus on understanding your unique story, strengths, and values. I strive to create a supportive, collaborative space where you feel truly heard, understood, and empowered to show up exactly as you are.

My therapeutic style is compassionate, thoughtful, and grounded in trauma-informed care. I integrate cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and strengths-based approaches to help clients better understand their thoughts, emotions, and patterns while building on the skills and resilience they already possess. I have experience supporting clients through trauma, life stressors, and challenging transitions, and I am trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR).

I have a particular interest in working with caregivers and individuals navigating major life transitions. As the surviving spouse of a disabled Navy veteran, I feel especially connected to and passionate about supporting military spouses and others within the military community.

I am committed to walking alongside clients as they move toward meaningful growth, healing, and lasting change.
